Writing Spirit has worked with diverse clients in public and private sectors. See below for a short overview of selected projects.
The LOTE Agency provides a broad range of intercultural communication services for corporates, advertising agencies and marketing professionals wishing to communicate with audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds Over the last ten years, Writing Spirit has:
- undertaken plain English edits of government and business content to make it suitable for translation
- revamped the organisation's corporate website
- created regular e-newsletters
- developed corporate service brochures
- written comprehensive research reports
- developed grant applications for large government tenders
- developed organisational policies.
Healthy Male (Andrology Australia) is a centre of excellence dealing with male reproductive health. Writing Spirit worked on their 2017 -2020 Annual Reports to:
- advise on the structure and tone of the report
- create content including undertaking interviews with, and writing articles on, key stakeholders across Australia
- edit the report.
Writing Spirit also regularly undertakes interviews and writes a range of first-person stories for The Male magazine and Healthy Male website.
Anglicare Victoria aims to prevent, protect & empower disadvantaged Victorian children, young people and families. Writing Spirit:
- created the organisation's writing style guide
- proofread their 2018 annual report.
Writers Victoria is the state’s largest organisation supporting Victorian writers. From 2014, Spiri has delivered a range of creative and business writing workshops to groups, along with mentoring individuals. Workshops include:
- Annual report writing
- Memoir writing - Protecting yourself and identifying memoir themes
- Road to Redemption - A 12-step program for procrastinating writers
Spiri is an accredited trainer and runs workshops for business, government and private providers. Go to her workshops page for upcoming workshops and mentoring opportunities.
Bestchance Child Family Care is an independent, not-for-profit organisation which has been providing education and support services to children and families since 1895. Writing Spirit:
- wrote the final chapter for the book From Burwood to bestchance: 120 years of Care and Education.
Darebin Community Health provides high-quality, culturally appropriate and accessible health services, group programs and access to co-located services for people living, working or studying in Darebin. Writing Spirit:
- edited various reports and created copy for organisational templates.
The Law Library of Victoria provides services to judicial officers, the legal profession and the general public. Writing Spirit:
- edited and created original content for the organisation's new website and corporate brochure.
Ovarian Cancer Australia is an independent national organisation that takes action for people affected by ovarian cancer in Australia. Writing Spirit:
- developed an online resource for very young women, including advising on content, creating interview questions, interviewing young women and organisations, sourcing images and writing a suitable resource that met women's needs.
The Australian Cancer Survivorship Centre works to help improve health outcomes for cancer survivors. Writing Spirit:
- Project managed the development of multilingual materials for cancer survivors who speak Cantonese, Greek and Mandarin. This included monitoring project deliverables, facilitating teleconferences, recruiting to and facilitating focus groups, writing and testing materials, reporting to funding body and providing cultural consultancy.
Breast Cancer Network Australia is the peak national organisation for Australians affected by breast cancer. Writing Spirit:
- developed breast cancer resources in five language groups, including running focus groups, creating resources in plain English and providing cultural advice for their translation and dissemination
- researched and wrote a 45-page induction kit for peer support groups joining the organisation.
The City of Maribyrnong incorporates the suburbs of Braybrook, Footscray, Kingsville, Maidstone, Maribyrnong, Seddon, Tottenham, West Footscray and Yarraville. Writing Spirit:
- undertook regular forays into Maribyrnong City to produce guest blog posts.
Yarra Ranges Council covers Melbourne's outer eastern and northeastern suburbs, extending into the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges. Writing Spirit:
- wrote several children's story books with local communities, which included running workshops and consultations across the region.
