Hi, just finished reading your book 'Afternoons in Ithaka' and really enjoyed it. I could relate with some of the themes, including strict Italian parents. But to tomatoes ... I grew tomatoes for the first time this summer at my mother's house. What a disappointment. I had to write about the experience too a few months ago on my blog 'The Good the Bad & the Italian': ‪https://ambradambra.wordpress.com/2015/01/31/home-groan-tomatoes-a-labour-of-love/ ‬ cheers, Ambra

Hi Ambra,

Thanks for writing - loved reading about your tomato growing experience and laughed out aloud when you worked out it cost $95 per meal for your little tomatoes! I leave the gardening to the hubby - some of his best produce grows spontaneously from random compost seeds, a but like your sweet potatoes. I love the ethos of your blog and am now a follower - look forward to reading more. Cheers, Spiri
